Dosing Schedule
A common simple protocol used in laboratory studies is 0.6 mg of Semax per day, administered subcutaneously once daily on a continuous (ongoing) basis. At the recommended dosage, one 10 mg vial will last approximately 17 days.
Reconstitution Instructions
Each vial contains 10 mg of Semax in lyophilized (powder) form.
- Add 1 mL of bacteriostatic water for injection to the vial.
- Gently swirl (do not shake) until the powder is fully dissolved.
- This creates a concentration of 10 mg per mL.
- On a standard U-100 insulin syringe: 0.01 mL (1 unit on the syringe) = 0.1 mg (100 mcg) of Semax. Therefore, for the 0.6 mg daily dose: draw 6 units (0.06 mL) on the syringe.
Storage
- Unreconstituted vials: Store in a cool, dry place or refrigerator.
- After reconstitution: Refrigerate the solution and use within 30 days. Do not freeze.
