Melanotan II is a synthetic cyclic peptide analogue of the endogenous hormone alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). It acts as a non-selective agonist at melanocortin receptors, primarily stimulating melanogenesis (the process of melanin production) in skin cells.

Dosing Schedule

A common simple protocol used in laboratory studies consists 600 mcg of Melanotan II once per week, administered subcutaneously on a continuous (ongoing) basis. At the recommended dosage, one 10 mg vial provides enough for approximately 17 weeks.

Reconstitution Instructions

Each vial contains 10 mg of Melanotan II in lyophilized (powder) form.

• Add 1 mL of bacteriostatic water for injection to the vial.
• Gently swirl (do not shake) until the powder is fully dissolved.
• This creates a concentration of 10 mg per mL.
• On a standard U-100 insulin syringe: 0.01 mL (1 unit on the syringe) = 0.1 mg (100 mcg) of Melanotan II. Therefore, for the 600 mcg dose: draw 0.06 mL (6 units on the syringe).

Storage

• Unreconstituted vials: Store in a cool, dry place or refrigerator.
• After reconstitution: Refrigerate the solution and use within 30 days. Do not freeze.
