Dosing Schedule

A common simple protocol used in laboratory studies is 250–500 IU of HCG administered subcutaneously 2–3 times per week. For on-cycle testicular support, 250 IU three times per week is frequently used. At 250 IU three times per week, one 5000 IU vial will last approximately 6–7 weeks.

Reconstitution Instructions

Each vial contains 5000 IU of HCG in lyophilized (powder) form.

• Add 5 mL of bacteriostatic water for injection to the vial.
• Gently swirl (do not shake) until the powder is fully dissolved.
• This creates a concentration of 1000 IU per mL.
• On a standard U-100 insulin syringe: 0.025 mL (2.5 units on the syringe) = 25 IU of HCG. Therefore, for the 250 IU dose: draw 0.25 mL (25 units on the syringe).

Storage

• Unreconstituted vials: Store in a cool, dry place or refrigerator.
• After reconstitution: Refrigerate the solution and use within 30–60 days. Do not freeze.
